the stuff that actually matters

six things you'll actually use.

speaks every currency

Most of the world's currencies, with live FX. Going to Tokyo? Lisbon? Bahrain? You're covered.

rent on autopilot

Set it once: rent, Netflix, the dog walker. Auto-adds on schedule.

friend-saver math

Fewest possible payments to zero. Three people, six debts? Two transfers, not six.

share like a meme

WhatsApp, iMessage, a tattoo. Whoever opens the link is in.

lives on your home screen

One-tap launch. No app store. Auto-updates the moment you reload.

easy on the eyes

Easy Read mode: bigger text, AAA contrast. For tiny-font haters and grandma's first split.

built for…

pretty much any time money gets shared.

good questions

before you ask…

do i need an account?

Nope, never required. You can use totalico for years without one — the URL is the key. That said, signing in is genuinely useful and we recommend it for power users: every group you visit is saved under my groups (synced across devices), recurring expenses unlock (rent, subs, weekly groceries on autopilot), and your preferences travel with you. Both modes are first-class — pick whichever vibe fits.

is it really free? what’s the catch?

Yes, every feature. No premium tier, no ads, no tracking, no upsell. Multi-currency, recurring expenses, settle-up — all of it, all the time.

what if my friends don't have totalico?

They don't need it. You send them the link, they open it on whatever browser they already have. That's the whole onboarding.

what currencies do you support?

Most of the world’s ISO currencies, from majors to long-tail. Each expense can be in any currency; balances show in your group’s default with daily-refreshed FX rates underneath.

do you sell my data?

Gross, no. We don’t even ask for it unless you opt into sign-in (magic-link or Google) to sync groups across devices. No third-party trackers, no ads.

can i install it like an app?

Yeah, in two taps. On Chrome / Edge a banner pops up at the top — tap install. On iPhone use Safari's share sheet → Add to Home Screen. Either way it lives full-screen on your home screen with one-tap launch, just like a native app.

how does the settle-up math work?

It calculates the minimum number of payments that brings everyone to zero. Three friends with six tangled debts? You’ll see two transfers, not six.

how do recurring expenses work?

Set a rule once — “rent, every 1st of the month, paid by Sam, split equally” — and it auto-adds the expense on schedule. Great for rent, Netflix, weekly groceries. Free.

what split options are there?

Four per expense: equal (divide evenly), exact (type each share), percent (each person as a %), or shares (weighted units — e.g. 2 shares costs twice 1 share).

what's Easy Read mode?

A built-in accessibility theme: larger text, WCAG AAA contrast (7:1 on text). Toggle it in the theme picker. Helpful for older eyes, low vision, or anyone tired of squinting.

how is this different from the big competitors?

Most competitors require you to sign up before you can do anything, then paywall the good stuff — recurring expenses, real multi-currency, ad-free use. Here it's all free, and you can use it without an account at all (or sign in if you want sync + recurring on autopilot). Plus: web-first with no app-store dependency, and a built-in Easy Read accessibility theme.

what happens if i lose the link?

If you signed in, the group's saved under my groups. If you didn't, the link is the only key — without it there's no way back. Same reason nobody can guess into your group either.
