totalico is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. While we make every effort to keep balances and conversions correct, totalico is a convenience tool — not a regulated financial product, not accounting software, and not legal or tax advice. You are responsible for verifying any number that matters before acting on it.

currency conversions

Foreign exchange rates are fetched from a public rates provider and are indicative only. They may be cached for short periods, may not match the rate you actually pay, and may be unavailable at times. Do not use the converted figures as a reference for an actual money transfer.

your content

You are responsible for the content you enter (group names, member names, expense descriptions, amounts). Don't enter content that's illegal, abusive, infringing, or that you don't have permission to share. We may remove content or groups that violate these terms or applicable law.

access via group links

Anyone with a group's URL can read and edit that group. By creating a group and sharing the link, you accept that the recipients can edit any data in it. Do not share group links with people you don't trust.

availability

We don't guarantee uptime. The service may be unavailable, lose data, or change at any time without notice. Keep your own records of anything important.

limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, totalico and its operators are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the service — including but not limited to financial loss, data loss, or disputes between you and people you split with.

acceptable use

• Don't attempt to break into accounts, groups, or infrastructure that aren't yours.
• Don't scrape, automate, or abuse the service in ways that affect availability for others.
• Don't use the service for anything illegal where you live, or where the service is hosted.

reasonable use

totalico is free and we want to keep it that way. To protect the service for everyone, we reserve the right to apply reasonable-use limits on free features — including but not limited to caps on recurring expenses per group, members per group, expenses per day, request rate, and total storage. Current limits are enforced in-product and may change without notice; legitimate users typically will not notice them. We also reserve the right to suspend or restrict access to accounts or groups that we determine, at our discretion, are being used abusively.

changes

We may update these terms at any time. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
